One of the most beautiful cities in the world - Saint Petersburg. It is the second largest city in Russia, and an important Russian port on the Baltic Sea.
It is Russia's second-largest city after Moscow, with five million inhabitants in 2012. Situated on the Neva River, at the head of the Gulf of Finland on the Baltic Sea, it was named Saint Petersburg in 1703.
Saint Petersburg is the most Westernized city of Russia, as well as its cultural capital. It is the northernmost city in the world with a population of over one million.
