Here are some Video from Fort McMurray (Alberta), where an area of 850 square kilometres – roughly the size of the City of Calgary. More than two-thirds of the community’s roughly 80,000 people fled south, while about 25,000 headed north to oil camps.

According to the province more than 1,110 firefighters, 145 helicopters, 138 pieces of heavy equipment and 22 air tankers are being used to fight the flames. 

There is no rain forecast until Sunday. The record heat and extremely low humidity experienced earlier this week have now dissipated, winds up to 50 km/h were forecast for Thursday evening.
